Marissa Revilla joined Global Press in 2006 as a member of the inaugural class of journalists in Mexico. She has a degree in communications and has covered topics including indigenous music and youth, midwifery, and local efforts to advance free internet. Marissa continues to work in radio and write on gender issues. Her 2007 piece on clandestine abortion received widespread acclaim. She is interested in Global Press because “it provides women with a space and gives them a voice to express things that they want the world to know.”
