Terry Aguayo

Terry Aguayo is the standards editor at Global Press Journal. Previously, Terry worked with GPJ as a fact checker, interpreter and translator. Prior to freelancing, she managed the Miami bureau of The New York Times, covering the state of Florida for the national newspaper. During her eight years with The Times, Terry helped cover stories of national significance, including the Elián González and Terri Schiavo cases, and the 2000 presidential election. Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, Terry writes and edits in both languages and has extensive translation experience. Prior to joining The New York Times, she worked at the Associated Press bureau in Miami, where she supported reporters and contributed copy to editors. Terry lives in Miami and holds a journalism degree and a translation studies certification from Florida International University.
