Elluppolai Shanmugalingam measures an iron rod to make a chicken cage in Jaffna, Sri Lanka. Shanmugalingam, who has worked as a welder since he was 17, owns a shop and visits customers’ homes when needed. He says the price of materials has tripled due to the economic crisis in the country.
