Malinda Seneviratne is a freelance writer who was earlier the Editor-in-Chief of 'The Nation'. He has contributed to almost all major newspapers in Sri Lanka as a freelance writer, in both English and Sinhala. He was educated at the University of Peradeniya, Harvard University, University of Southern California and Cornell University. His collections of poetry were shortlisted on five occasions for the Gratiaen Prize. He won the award in 2013 for his seventh published collection of poetry titled 'Edges'. He also won the H.A.I Goonetileka Prize for the Best Translation in 2012 ['Sansaaraaranyaye Dadayakkaraya' or 'The Hunter in the Sanctuary of Sansara' by the acclaimed Sinhala author the late Simon Navagaththegama].
