Christina Colón joined Global Press in 2019. Before joining Global Press, Christina worked as a web editor at Sojourners, where she edited and reported stories at the intersection of religion and social justice.

In 2018, Christina was selected to be a member of the Solutions Journalism Network’s #MeToo #SolutionsToo reporting cohort. Her article, “When Your Sexual Harasser Has Keys To Your Apartment: Bringing Sexual Harassment in Housing Out from Behind Closed Doors,” addresses strategies for combating sexual harassment in housing, an issue that has gone chronically underreported in the U.S.

Before moving to Washington, D.C., Christina studied Sociology and Anthropology at Centre College in Danville, KY. She received a Certificate in Editing through the Poynter Institute.

Christina is an ambassador of the Shepherd Higher Education Consortium on Poverty, a nonprofit that strives to advance ethical civic engagement among college students.

A Florida native, Christina enjoys sunshine and iced tea. When not at her computer, Christina can be found listening to a podcast, reading in a local park or making scrambled eggs.
