Aria Velasquez joined Global Press Journal as Global Audience Manager in 2019. Prior to that, she worked in audience development at Slate Magazine and ThinkProgress. She graduated from University of Georgia in 2014 with bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and International Affairs. She hopes to earn a master’s degree by 2022.
Aria is a Georgia native based out of Washington, D.C. and in spite of living in D.C. since 2016, she has yet to adjust to the suffocating humidity that comes every summer. Outside of work, she likes to spend her time knitting, cooking, sewing and learning about digital photography. If you see her laughing randomly in public, it’s probably because of the podcast she’s listening to.
