Mongolia Sodnomsambuu Dagvadorj makes a traditional Mongolian boot at his home in Erdenebulgan, a district in northern Mongolia’s Arkhangai province. Sodnomsambuu and his wife, Altantuya Duvdan, have been making these traditional boots for 30 years, and they produce over 200 pairs of boots each year with the help of their two daughters and two sons-in-law. Sodnomsambuu says that although they have been able to continue making shoes during the coronavirus outbreak, sales have gone down drastically.
