Uganda has been in the midst of a real estate boom since 2000. Today, Uganda continues to rapidly grow to meet the increasing demands of the urban population.

Kampala, the capital city, has grown beyond its original size, and now suburbs are being developed so rapidly that the former line between capital and suburb is now blurred. Naalya, one such sprawling suburb, has become typical of Kampala. Ten years ago, this area was filled with only sprawling green hills. Today, modern apartments and bungalows have sprouted. Most of the housing is owned by individuals and a few by the state company, National Housing and Construction Company.
