Preeti Jha has been reporting across Asia for the last decade. Based in Singapore she focuses on human rights, gender and politics. Her work is published globally for outlets including The Washington Post, New Statesman and Al Jazeera English.
Previously Preeti was a Southeast Asia correspondent for AFP, based in Bangkok, and an editor on the agency's Asia-Pacific desk in Hong Kong. Earlier still she was a politics journalist for the BBC in London and a reporter for The Indian Express in New Delhi.
Preeti grew up in Wales and traces her ancestry to the state of Bihar in India. She loves biryani, rolling hills and bridges.
